We own and operate our wash, attending daily for service and repairs to keep Uncle Chick's in tip-top shape. Many of our competitors are just investors who hire out all work and maintenance, resulting in poor wash quality and many breakdowns giving the touch-free wash a bad reputation.

We offer the latest and greatest Water Wizard 2.0 touch-free automatic system, the most advanced touch-free on the market. We've taken it to a new level by outfitting ours with turbo nozzles, which clean better than traditional nozzles using half the water! Uncle Chick's also has 5 large self-service wash bays with every option you could want right at your fingertips. Credit cards, cash, quarters, and tokens are accepted in all self-service wash bays.

A great touch-free wash is convenient, fast, environmentally friendly, economical, won't damage vehicles finish, and most importantly, works great!

The Pros

A good touch-free is convenient and typically fast compared to a full-service wash. You never have to leave your vehicle or worry about any valuables disappearing after car wash employees are done. It never comes into contact with the vehicle surface at any point during the wash, thereby eliminating any costly damages many full-service washes (conveyer) contend with.

Many variables can influence the touch-free wash process including, but not limited to, quality of soap, vehicle temperature surface, presoak dilution ratio, presoak temperature, dwell time (amount of time presoak spends on vehicle surface), water pressure, impingement, water quality/water hardness, TDS (total dissolved solids in spot-free water).

Even a great touch-free has its limitations.

The Cons

Even the best well-maintained touch-free is limited in its capabilities simply because it does not use friction or touch the vehicle surface. Simply put, if you haven't washed your car in months or have really ground in dirt, don't expect a miracle.

My Great-Uncle Chick built one of the first fully automatic, full-service conveyor washes in the St. Louis Mo. area in 1951. The Big Bend automatic car washes slogan was "A clean car looks better, drives better, and lasts longer." It was located on the corner of Clayton Road and Big bend Road.
